JCC Maccabi Games® started in 1982 with a big mission. It was designed in order to: provide Jewish youth with a supportive environment that fosters mutual respect and sportsmanship, where they can interact in an atmosphere of fun, democracy, and peace; cultivate a deeper understanding and instill an appreciation of Jewish values within Jewish youth, enrich their Jewish identity in an informal setting, and encourage their identification with the state of Israel; promote and encourage the health, physical fitness and well-being of Jewish youth through participation in recreational and athletic activities; and introduce Jewish youth to the international Maccabi Movement, which presents athletic, cultural, and social opportunities with Jews from around the world.Team Dallas regularly brings one of the largest delegations to the JCC Maccabi Games.
Team Dallas is traveling to Toronto for the 2026 JCC Maccabi Games and Access from August 2 - 7, 2026.
Athletes must be between the ages of 13 and 17 during the week of the games, August 2 - 7, 2026.

Tryouts for the JCC Maccabi Games will take place in January and February 2026. Starting in December, we’ll share weekly tryout details via email and social media. Reminders will also be sent the week before each tryout, and the full schedule will be available on the Team Dallas webpage.

Team Dallas has a proud tradition of exceptional JCC Maccabi coaches. These dedicated volunteers come from our community and bring years of experience from the JCC Maccabi Games and local youth sports programs. They generously give their time to create an unforgettable Jewish summer experience for our local teens.
Any Jewish teen aged 13–17 living in the DFW metroplex is eligible to participate. Teens who are not JCC members and are offered a spot on a team will need to pay an additional Teen Membership which is $35/month upon acceptance. This membership must be maintained through August 31, 2026 and grants JCC membership from the time of payment through August 31, 2026. The total for this six months of teen membership is $210.
Tryouts are free, but if a spot is offered and accepted, there is a cost. The price for 2026 has not been finalized yet, but will be posted shortly. This fee covers registration, uniforms, meals, flights, transportation, security, and more. The payment schedule will also be publicized shortly.
Yes, financial aid is available and will be awarded based on need. You can apply for financial assistance during the tryout process ahead of team selections.
In early to mid-March the Delegation Heads will call parents with information about which team their child made and will send a follow-up email. Parents and teens will have 48 hours to make their deposit to secure their spot on Team Dallas. If you do not immediately hear from the Delegation Head that does not mean your teen was cut from Team Dallas, there will be over 200 phone calls made to those who tried out.
After receiving a phone call and email about the team your teen made for the JCC Maccabi Games, you will have 48 hours to log in to your JCC account to place a deposit or pay the entire fee in full to confirm the spot. Without the deposit, your teen’s spot is not confirmed, and we will move on to the next athlete on our list for Team Dallas.
After paying your teen’s deposit, you will receive a confirmation email including a link to the Regpack registration system. You will need to go the link to register your teen for the JCC Maccabi Games. You will need the following information to complete the registration.
Current Headshot Photograph
Teen’s Proof of Age (Passport, Birth Certificate, or Driver’s License)
Health Insurance Card and Information
Updated Immunization Records
Current Physical Signed By Pediatrician (JCCA Form must be used)
Everything except for the current physical and updated immunization record will be due by Friday, April 10. The current physical and updated immunization record will be due by Friday, June 10. Anyone who misses these deadlines will be subject to a late fee penalty.
We understand many participants may attend summer camps, family vacations, or have summer jobs that conflict with part of the summer. Participants must attend the full JCC Maccabi experience in Tucson or Pittsburgh. Teens are strongly encouraged to attend as many practices, meetings, and social events as possible throughout the summer. Coaches will work with families to schedule events when most players can attend.
In late March or early April, we will have one week of gear try-ons at the Dallas JCC. For those living north of the JCC, we will also try to schedule an afternoon in Plano. Additionally, we will visit local schools to offer try-ons during lunch periods. This will be your teen’s only opportunity to try on gear for the correct sizing. If you miss the try-ons, we will use the sizes listed in the Regpack registration system when ordering gear for your teen.
In the spring, we will have our delegation meeting, followed by team breakout sessions to meet with coaches and review expectations for the spring and summer, as well as team schedules. After this meeting, team practices will begin. Some sports will start practice right away, while others will wait until later in the summer. Practice frequency varies depending on each sport and the teens' availability.
Access is a JCC Maccabi Games Experience for Jewish Athletes (ages 13-23) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Access athletes, with one-to-one support, participate in the JCC Maccabi Games, including both unified and specialized activities. The program offers an inclusive and meaningful way for Access athletes to join thousands of their Jewish peers from around the world in experiencing the magic of JCC Maccabi.
